30 March 2021

journey enterprises has been selected by the houses of parliament as a charity providing outstanding services in the united kingdom.

the charity is featuring in this year’s parliamentary review and will be invited to a celebration of its work later in the year at the house of lords.

“we were absolutely delighted to hear lords pickles and blunkett had selected journey as a charity providing best practice in the field of learning disability.

the review gives us an opportunity not only to show our work in the north east but to showcase nationally the outcomes people with learning disability achieve as they aspire to inclusive, active and fulfilling lives.

in a year of very significant challenge for our clients & families, our staff and trustees, this reminds us how important it is to ensure the voice of learning disability is heard and to celebrate not only the wonderful achievements of clients but the hard work provided by our extraordinary staff team and board of trustees.

well done to everyone in the journey family and let’s enjoy our moment of national success.”  (elspeth mcPherson, chief executive officer)
