My visit to Newcastle Railway Station with the Tanfield Railway Volunteers
I had a great day on his visit to Newcastle central station. The visit covered all areas and activities in front and behind the scenes.
In the station management building we saw how the trains are controlled through the station and some volunteers were allowed to make PA Announces about train arrivals.
After that we were taken to the train drivers centre and allowed to use the train driver’s simulators. I drove both the new engine for new trains and the class 91 Engine. I drove the trains from Kings Cross station up to St. Neots Station on the London to Newcastle Route. Speedy I broke the speed limit driving at 135 mph in a 125mph limit area.
We took lots of photos on my phone. We got tea or coffee and gifts off virgin.
