Massive thank you to Tony Gibson
Daybreak supporting Adults with Learning Disabilities - Fundraising event
On the 3rd July 2016 on of the parents whose son attends Daybreak Acomb Hub, took part in the Great North Run 10k and raised £50 for Daybreak.
Tony Gibson, did the run in 59 Minutes and 58 Seconds, beating his target of 1 hour!
We asked Tony to describe how the run went and if he did a lot of training prior to the run. Tony stated:
"The run was good fun and I didn't find it too difficult for most of the 10k but the last 1k was very uphill (nicknamed the ("Slog on the Tyne") I was glad to enter the Gateshead Stadium and see the finishing line.
I am running in the Great North Run in September so this run was part of the training schedule. The schedule has lots of 5k and 10k runs spaced over each week. I usually run in the Wannies near home but I am now running around French Lanes in 30 degrees, hot."
Everyone here at Daybreak would like to thank Tony for raising money for us. We are hoping to put the money towards new seating for the cafe.
We all wish Tony luck for the forthcoming Great North Run in September.
There is still time to sponsor Tony and raise money for Daybreak, you can access Tony's fundraising page using the following link:
