Stephen Miller MBE
Stephen is a professional athlete born with Cerebral Palsy and has been representing Great Britain for over 20 years in the Paralympic field athletics, F32 Club Throw event. Stephen’s extensive medal collection includes 9 Gold, 2 Silver and 4 Bronze from competing during the Paralympic games, World Champions and European Championships.
Stephen has been awarded several honors over the years, the latest of which was receiving an MBE for services to sport in the 2016 New Year honors list. Stephen is an inspiration to all, proving to everyone that with hard work and endless determination anything is possible and your goals and aspirations can be achieved.
Aside from his highly successful sports career Stephen and his wife Rachel set up a sports CIC, SMILE Through Sport in 2013 with the aim to inspire, educate and promote enjoyment of disability sport. Daybreak have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to take part in sports activities ran by SMILE Through Sport, thus enabling our relationship to grow into a strong, supportive partnership.
Stephen has been a Patron with Daybreak for over a year now with his first act as Patron opening our new Hub in Cowgate back in September 2015. Upon opening the hub Stephen said “It’s been a great honor to be asked to open the new Daybreak Hub. I was approached a while ago by Christine asking to get involved. As soon as I visited Daybreak I knew I wanted to get involved with the Hub, it’s a great place, they are doing a great job”.
